World History Atlas HD with 3D App Reviews

Who ever wrote this app has decided that the Jewish people only had a home after WW2. Other gross inaccuracies abound. Mislabeled/unlabeled countries. Otherwise its pretty and fun to look at. It feels like an alpha test of a product to come.

beautiful app. nice concept, but far from thorough in regards to history

An ambitious goal, an overview of world history on the face of an iPad. The developers have come a long way, but the app lacks polish and, at least on my iPad, crashes frequently. This behavior quickly exhausts my patience. Im hoping an updated version will improve it.

I got this app while it was free. It is a great concept! The ability to view the earth and its territories with a time reference and history current to that time is amazing!

It really needs an update. It keeps crashing and some countries arent up to date.

You do understand that text has to be large enough to read on a screen right? If it isnt large enough to read you might as well not have text at all.

Very few references to different events and cultures. There are ancient cultures that are not even mentioned. Big errors on map throughout all eras, big chunks missing as if there were periods of a few decades at a time when some of the regions were completely uninhabited, or even countries completely missing from the map for a while.

Do not buy this crap, looks very nice, but map is so inaccurate, and this map is actually the main point of this app. Luckily I got it for free.

I spent around 30 minutes looking thru history and found enough incorrect information to find this app worthless. Glad I downloaded thru apps for free. Not worth it at any price!

I wish you could turn off the text on the globe. It makes it difficult to see the rise and fall of civilizations, the expansion and contraction of borders.

Good idea, but a lot of wrong data.

I absolutely love this app. It could use a couple fixes but it still functions fine. Thanks for creating this app

Just started using the app but am not impressed so far. The pictures and their captions dont match up. Needs some editing to correct issues before putting this out. I will watch for updates to see if it can be salvaged.

This is exactly what I needed! I am finally understanding history because Im able to visualize it. I wish I had this in school.

What does 1960 have to do with Obama being elected in 2008? Graphics are pretty cool, but info is very sparse. A lot more has happened in the world than is presented here, and a lot more significant events than are presented here. Plus, the app constantly shuts down.

I own thousands of apps and this is the first review I have ever written. I am teaching a Big History course, and this app is giving me the most useful materials for my slides -- graphically engaging and wonderful in breadth and scope. The other reviewer who complained of few facts must not have found the links to the thorough wiki articles. The complaint about it being Euro-centered is unfounded. I only wish it was available for my Mac computer.

Im glad my teachers did not have this for me at school. Im amazed that so many teachers are impressed by this application. Its fun to look at when you know history, but if you dont, what can you learn?

Beautiful app, a tremendous effort, cant wait for more. Highly recommended--as a favorite go to app, I would buy again. ++Update: I still hope to see more such applications, such as detailed history around such objects in history as Stonehenge. I know that its a big undertaking, but I sure would enjoy buying specialty versions of this type of application. The current one is a great overview. More specialized areas of history would be a fascinating way to zero in on details without creating a massive size app.

Absolutely useless, omitting nations and their history. . .from my perspective as a former teacher, dont take up useless space on your device.
